This is the blank border around the code, measured in QR modules — not the plate size. If the code looks small with a lot of empty edge space, lower this first (1 is the tightest a scanner can still reliably read); the "Base size" below only scales the whole plate, margin and code together.

Opening a plain STL in your slicer gives one uncolored block — STL has no color data, so nothing gets auto-painted. For an AMS/multi-filament printer like Bambu, use the 3MF export below: it packs the base and code as one object with two pre-colored parts, so the tile stays a single model you can assign to two filaments with no manual painting.

Single-color STLs below still work if you plan to hand-paint or swap filament yourself — use contrasting colors so a scanner can tell modules apart.

Need a 2D file instead? The SVG is a flat vector at true millimetre scale — same corner radius, quiet zone and code-to-plate ratio as the 3D plate. Use it for laser cutting, vinyl, print or editing in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma.
